Such kind words and powerful life changes!
The First step
I have had several sessions with Ian in order to help me deal with many issues in my life including depression, anxiety attacks and my own self image.
I will not claim that that I have been miraculously "cured", however I can say that, with Ian's assistance, I am better equipped and have more tools in my “belt” to help me understand and therefore better deal with the problems, situations and thoughts that surrounded me in everyday life.
I sought help because because I had got to a point in my life where I had to make a big, personal decision - move on or give up.
I still have bad days, as Ian told me I indeed would, but I accept them as part of my "illness" and deal with them accordingly.
My good days are “better” days, allowing me to do things that I struggled with before such as going shopping during daylight hours and dealing with social situations and gatherings.
Every day now is a small step forward and I cannot fault Ian's patience, understanding, help and guidance in assisting me to be able to do that.
The first step, that has to be your own – you have to, as I was, be at a point where you admit that you need help to move on.
The next step? Ask Ian, he will help you find a way.

I was just suffering with life....
I've recently finished some sessions with a counsellor. Technically he was a CBT therapist but I was lucky in that he was also a warm and compassionate human being. Even better, he treated me as exactly the same. Not as a diagnosis, or a patient that needed 'fixing'; just as me, Fiona, a fellow human being who was struggling right now.
I've never felt entirely comfortable with being labelled as having 'depression' – though I concede that my symptoms fit with modern society's classification system and that we must all fit into a neat box... Oooh, better get back in that box Fiona!
No, I've always thought that the way I have thought, felt, reacted and behaved has been a result of 'stuff' that I have experienced. That my resilience and coping strategies perhaps weren't as honed as they could be. That I wasn't doing the best job of taking care of myself. In essence then, I was just suffering with 'life'!
Sadly though life isn't a formal diagnosis is it, and no one gives us any leeway for living it. Life is full of joy and excitement; new experiences; love and friendship; pleasures a plenty. Simultaneously it's full of challenges, change and chaos; trials and tribulations. Its just not plain sailing is it, and some of us, well, we just aren't very good at sea.
So, to find someone who understood this, and accepted me, made all the difference. It wasn't like going for therapy; it was like chatting to a new friend. A friend who turned round, threw a lifeline to me flailing around in the water and said "Actually; how you're feeling? That's OK. I'm here. I'm listening".

Provided me with answers
I would like to thank you Ian for the help and support you gave me when I most needed it.
You provided me with the answers as to why I was panicking and feeling so bad about everything.
It was done in a very friendly and professional manner, but in a homely setting.
I would put your name forward to anyone I know who needed help without hesitation.
Thanks again.

Would have only got worse....
After living with anxiety for nearly 3 years which was gradually getting worse and completely spoiling my life at times, I decided to make an appointment to see Ian at the recommendation of a friend.
It was the best decision I could have made. I am now enjoying life to the full and can deal with all that life throws at me, without the help help of Ian I am sure my life would have only got worse.
Ian welcomes you into his home environment and makes you feel relaxed, it is not like going to see someone in a "clinical environment". I would not hesitate to recommend Ian to anyone seeking help.

Heavy stone in my stomach......
Following bereavement and subsequent issues I was left feeling very down. I would wake in the night feeling a great sadness and with what felt like a heavy stone in my stomach.
I found it difficult going back to sleep and would go through the events that had occurred.
My family were concerned because I was no longer the happy person I had been.
Ian was recommended to me and I felt it was worth a try. After two sessions I felt the size of the ‘stone' was reducing and by the sixth sessions it was gone. I now sleep well, feel able to cope with my life and what has happened.
My husband and family have noticed a big change in me and I am back to being myself.
I cannot thank Ian enough and I know that if I need to speak to him he is there for me.

OCD for 30 years.....
I have suffered with OCD for over 30 years; and have undertaken many different therapies and treatments in that time. All I can say is that Ian 'gets it'.
He is compassionate, caring and supportive and above all good at what he does.
Ian's approach is modern and down-to-earth and has made a tangible difference to me.
I would recommend Ian unreservedly.

I am whole again
When I first came to see Ian, I was in pieces.
I was struggling with issues around food, eating and body image which had dominated my life for nearly three decades.
I was battling with anxiety, struggling to come to terms with diagnosis of a chronic disease and feeling like I had lost any sense of identity. Ian helping me to pick up the pieces and re-form them; however, he didn't just help me to reform back to being myself again but actually to take those pieces and put them back together in a new, improved way. Thanks to Ian, I am whole again, and I am more whole than I have ever been.
His kindness, his skill, his insight and his wisdom have all helped me to defeat personal demons who I had thought were so deeply a part of me that I would never, could never, be free of them.
Ian's greatest skill lies in identifying what is needed for you, and then implementing that with honesty, tact and a real insightfulness. His flexability, thanks to his wealth of experience and the depth of his knowledge, was key I believe to our success.
Throughout, Ian made the journey feel like a mutual effort. It always felt as though Ian were invested in me, as though he genuinely cared about helping me to find my way out of the darkness.
I am so glad that I made the choice to see Ian and will be forever grateful to him for all that I have been able to accomplish because of him. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone.

Come out smiling!
If you are reading this and thinking could this possibly help me, just like I did, I can't tell you how pleased I am that I contacted Ian, and how much it does help and change your life.
Ian doesn't act like a therapist and he doesn't treat you like a patient, his approach makes you feel completely at ease and like someone is actually listening to you.
If you are experiencing problems and feelings which are affecting your every day life I would thoroughly recommend Ian to help you work through it like he did me.
Sometimes you just think there is nothing that can help and you are destined to feel how you are forever. That's not the case and Ian helped me to work through and come out the other side smiling.

Manage anxiety in the future
I first contacted Ian in 2016 after several anxiety attacks. A littl apprehensive at first, I was quickly reassured by Ian who helped me
manage my anxiety and in particular my extreme concerns over my health.
I had several sessions with Ian and soon felt able to move on with my life. His empathy and positive attitude always made me feel I could be myself during the sessions.
A change of situation in my life meant I had further anxiety the following year. Again I felt able to turn to Ian who was always available for reassurance and advice.
I cannot thank him enough for helping me.
He allowed me to see how I react to anxiety, how to manage my irrational fears and move on with my life with real optimism and acceptance. He taught me how to use the tools within myself to manage anxiety in the future.

What a difference
I am an elderly man with a chronic illness which severely affects my way of life.
I became both depressed and at times very anxious due to the illness and was also tormented by (what I now know are called) intrusive thoughts. These thoughts, coupled with my illness, were ruining my life, plus, I was also avoiding food. My weight was down to 7 stone 12 lbs when I first went to see Ian, having been persuaded to seek help from my family. I was extremely underweight. I had several visits to Ian last year and returned some months later for two more.
What a difference Ian has made to me.
I will always have my chronic complaint but have a different outlook regarding food. I am now back to a healthy weight and do not intend to ever get in that state again.
The intrusive thoughts are so much better. I still occasionally get them but now know how to deal with them.
I am in a completely different 'place'. I wouldn't hesitate to see him again should I need help in the future.
Ian is patient, kind and professional. A thoroughly nice man. I would definitely recommend him.
Thank you Ian,
Brian Surtees

I really can't thank Ian enough for how he has helped me.
I went to him thinking that I had a 'problem' and he has made me
realise that it is completely normal to not be ok and that in the end, I will be.
Would highly recommend to anyone.

Thought I was Superman.......
So all this time I thought I was Superman but it turns out I'm Robin and that's OK.
After suffering some headaches and physical problems I was told by my Doctor I was having psychological headaches and my physical symptoms were down to that.
After a lot of denial and bottling up I sought professional help from Ian Best at Total Therapeutics and I am so glad I did.
In no small way my experience with Ian was fantastic and has totally changed my life for the better.
This guy is amazing he has so many tools at his disposal to help with many different things it's unreal..
When I first went to see Ian I must admit, I was in a mess, I did not now how I could carry on feeling the way I was feeling. I felt scared and alone.
After the first session where we discussed my issues and a treatment plan I did feel a little better that maybe I could get better.
As soon as I started treatment I felt an instant connection with Ian which made it easy to open up and get the help from him I so badly needed.
I cannot stress enough to people that if you are feeling like I did don't bottle it up!
Here you have a service that can help in ways you will never imagine.
Ian made it so easy with his professional but caring manner, the environment in which the sessions are carried out is relaxed and calm and this is a fantastic way to get help.
I would recommend Ian to anyone and everyone and I really hope if you are reading this you make the right decision and talk about your issues with an all round great therapist.
I am eternally grateful to Ian for the help and support he supplied me with.

Hello, my name is Tyler, I'm 19
years old .....
Hello, my name is Tyler, I'm 19 years old.
This is my story on how I overcome anxiety and depression and how Ian Best has played a big part in my recovery.
In November 2016 I sadly lost a inspirational person in my life that's when my life fell apart and I hit rock bottom.
Then not long after I started to suffer from health anxiety.
Then I started to notice that I was worrying a lot about mine and my family's health. I got really bad that I started to go to the doctors 3times a week because I wanted someone to tell me everything was ok because I lost all confidence and belief and all I wanted was reassurance.
In May 2017 I started to see Ian Best, over the next months of counselling I started to see a change in my life that there was a light at then end of the tunnel.
Ian helped me overcome my biggest problems that I had and helped me build my confidence and taught me lessons about life.
He also taught me how to reassure my self and how not to be afraid of my problems and how to overcome them.
January 2018, I still see Ian Best every month, if any one is suffering from any mental illness there's no need to suffer alone all you have to do is contact Ian. You're not alone, I'm living proof that this great man Ian Best can and will help you.

Light at the end of the tunnel
If you are reading this you are looking for help like I was a few months ago.
I felt nauseous all the time, could not eat, lost a great deal of weight and anxiety took over my life. It was the best thing I have done when I rang Ian.
I am not saying it was easy, it was quite hard at times but I am very glad I made the call.
I never thought anyone could help me overcome my anxiety but Ian has and I will always be grateful for that.
It is the best decision I made and I owe my recovery to Ian.

Much better place.....
I went to see Ian to help with my severe health anxiety, panic attacks and cancer phobia after a heart attack last year.
There were also some issues from my childhood which I believed were linked to my anxieties and phobia which I didn't understand.
After seeing Ian for a number of sessions, although I am not cured as there is no total cure, I am in a position where I fully understand the my childhood issues and am now able to "park" those issues and can now manage my anxieties and phobias to such an extent that they do not rule my life.
The reasons behind my issues was explained by Ian in a way that I can easily understand and so make them easier to manage.
A session of EMDR also helped to diminish my memory of the emergency services treating me when I had my heart attack, a picture of which used to set off panic attacks as I couldn't get it out of my mind.
Thanks to Ian I am now in a much better place.

Happy bubbly Becky
Back in October 2017 I started noticing myself struggling with what should have been easy day to day activities. My father had been diagnosed with cancer, a situation I never thought we would be in. Everything from then on spiralled out of control and I was no longer the independant woman I had always been.
I was doing everything in my power to make sure nothing else happened, yet looking back now I can see it really wasnt helpful! I was worrying constantly about my families health, resulting in me completing specific routines to try prevent passing anything on. I needed reassurance 24/7 and could not face going out the house alone. I have never felt so low and could not see a way out if it; I'd hit rock bottom.
After numerous trips to the doctors and being on the waiting list for CBT I decided I couldnt wait any longer and took it upon myself to find help. I started researching into something I didnt know anything about which also scared the life out of me. This is when I came across Ian and decided to book an appointment.
I can honestly say making an appointment with Ian was the best decision I could have made. I had several sessions with Ian where we started right at the beginning and stripped back all the layers which had an effect on how I ended up in this situation. I looked at the appointments with Ian as my "safe place".
Ian discussed EMDR and from his experience thought it would be helpful. To put it politely I thought it sounded a load of rubbish, but went ahead with it to give it a go; at the end of the day Ian is a professional and knows what he is talking about and I knew I could put my trust in him. I can no longer visualize the disturbing image I had in my head, therefore proving this "rubbish" works wonders!
I am not 100% "fixed" and I probably never will be but Ian has taught me many lessons which have helped me in my journey to getting better; believe and never doubt myself and learn to sympathise!
I am happier now than I have been in a long time, and it is all thanks to the wonderful Ian! I will never forget the sessions I had with Ian, and I honestly could not thank him enough.
Even though we have said our farewells, I know I have him to turn to if things start to get rough again.
So once again, thank you so so much Ian! You have turned my life around and without you I wouldnt be the happy, bubbly Becky, that everyone knows me as!

Courage to live!
Ian Best is the best! I had two years of CBT & Psychotherapy to deal with long term domestic physical & mental abuse which left me with severe anxiety & eating disorders.
Ian helped me overcome my issues, confront my fears which gave me the courage to live a happy ‘normal’ life without an abusive partner.
I am forever grateful & I’m sure he will help many more people.
Highly recommended!

Huge hole in my life.....
I started to see Ian after a sudden traumatic family death that has left a huge whole in my heart/life and family.
I had been suffering with nightmares, flashbacks amongst other things due to this.
I couldn't do certain things, look at certain things but with Ian's help and course of treatment which was EMDR( which is the most amazing powerful treatment ever) I have now come to terms with the traumatic side of what happened thanks to Ian.
Ian is a fantastic professional and a generally really nice human.
Anyone who needs help Ian is the only one to go to.
100% value for money.
So once again thank you Ian

I can enjoy myself and focus.....
When I first met with Ian I was in a really bad place. My father had been diagnosed with stage III throat cancer and I had just started my placement year as part of my degree, so the year came as a complete shock to me. As someone who has always strived for perfection, I was completely mesmerized by everything that was going on and although I seemed composed to many people on the outside I was really struggling to cope.
During the time when my father was ill, I was relatively ok and just wanted to know what was going on and the details of his illness. With a scientific background I wanted to know what treatment he was on, how his immune system would be compromised and generally anything to grasp what was going on. At this point I mostly managed to hide my thoughts regarding hygiene from people and didn’t let it completely take over my life. However, it wasn’t until several months later that I really started to scrutinize everything that I did with too much detail, thinking that if I didn’t do certain tasks, like cleaning, I would somehow cause suffering to my family and that something catastrophic would happen. I took it upon myself to protect the people I loved the most, which at the time seemed like the best thing I could do, but it soon took over my life. Simple tasks became hour long problems, efforts that I made to clean up were no longer good enough. I think Ian asked me at some point whether I ever stopped and just took some time out from it and my reply was along the lines of that if I stopped the issue would get bigger and that I couldn’t possibly take a break from it. The thoughts in my head snowballed and if it wasn’t one thing making me anxious it would be something different, almost like my thoughts were shape-shifting.
Going to see Ian was in some ways my break from it. I never felt judged by what I told him and he completely adapted to the person I was. He made me realise that in all my efforts to protect people, I was actually hurting myself and the others who cared about me because I had completely put my life on hold. I went from being completely motivated to achieve amazing things in life to someone who couldn’t look forward to anything anymore. Ian always helped me to fit appointments around my busy schedule and I travelled two hours to visit my family and to see him whilst I was there every weekend for a good while. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. One thing I will say is that Ian never provided me with a generic set of things to do, he almost made me try and figure it out myself, which for me was of much greater value.
My anxiety hasn’t disappeared, nor have all of the thoughts that I have in my head. However, I am now able to go through life having a more positive outlook and look forward to things to come. I can go and enjoy myself and focus on the goals that I used to strive so hard for. I have days when I feel like I’ve gone backwards but I have many days where I am happy, somewhere that I thought I wouldn’t be about 3 months ago. I will never forget the help that Ian offered me and would like to say a massive thank you to him.

Talking to an Old Friend.....
“I spent several sessions with Ian, discussing work based issues.
I found these appointments exactly what I needed and they gave me the strength to make big decisions and the security of knowing that they were right for me.
The sessions took place in a relaxed atmosphere, and whilst undoubtedly professional and therapeutic, had the feel of talking to an old friend. I cannot recommend Ian highly enough”

Totally Transformed Me !
My six week therapy sessions with Ian totally transformed me back from where I felt I was - a broken man with a broken 16 year relationship with my wife to more of the man I was before all my problems started.
Ian has been like talking to a best friend - being able to confide in someone so laid back about all things of this nature with an understanding and positive outlook for me was a real help and I couldn’t recommend Ian highly enough, a fantastic guy who like Batman and Robin fights the problem together while your dealing with the complexities of what seem at the time your tumultuous life problems.
Thank you Ian you’ve been a great help and have turned me back to the more
level headed version of me that I remember.

Like a scared Rabbit
When I first met Ian I was in such a place I never want to go back to, I never want to forget all I've been through as it keeps me going making me the person I am now.
I will always remember Ian's words a few weeks ago, he does make me laugh! He said, and I quote.....
“Bloody hell babe! 3 months ago you was like a scared rabbit in the headlights, now you're opening your own business!!!”
I never ever thought that possible. Ian has guided me away from feeling worthless, not wanted, stupid, not clever, and every other feeling that a bad childhood leaves you with, Ian you have been one of the best ever people I have met, you know your stuff and you certainly helped me more than you will ever understand, as much as I don’t want this to be a review like buying a new hoover or coffee machine because there isn’t enough stars for what you deserve.
Me and my husband are so grateful for our gift from you, A CAPSULE of our very own. Indestructible not like them silly bubbles which burst.
I have now opened up my own business, gained a highest distinction from my studies. I'm no longer the Pidgeon Ian, I'm the crow!!! You get what I mean haha, see I am even comfortable with my silly self. Last weeks weather can just stay where it is.
Thank you Ian from the bottom of my heart. You made this all possible.

Skeptical??
Like a lot of people - I was skeptical about seeing a Psychotherapist.
I could not see how CBT could possibly help. However, Ian has a way of explaining things that help you understand why you are feeling certain ways. Having an understanding of what was going on helped me to control my anxiety. Ian is very kind, caring and exceptionally knowledgeable. He puts you at ease and I looked forward to our appointments much like you do when meeting up with an old friend.
After a period of CBT, Ian suggested that EMDR may also benefit me. Again, I was sceptical but the results were nothing less than remarkable.
I had suffered with anxiety and depression for many years relating to a traumatic time in my childhood. EMDR helped me digest these memories. During the first ‘set’ I was immediately overcome with an overwhelming sense of calm. It was like nothing I had experienced before. Now when I try and picture those dark times in my mind, they are very distant and hard to recall. The memories are no longer accompanied by the sense of dread that was so familiar to me.
I would recommend Ian to anyone who is contemplating seeking help. I wish I had seen him sooner!
Kind regards,
Chris Lake

Joyful Optimism
It took me almost a year to pick up the ‘phone to arrange my first consultation with Ian.
But I had become exhausted from playing the role of a confident and capable business woman and wife, and I had come to absolute breaking point. It took a superhuman effort day after day, to smile and pretend I was fine and in control – both at home and at work. By the time I met Ian, I was desperately lonely. Every day felt like a pointless struggle driven only by a crushing fear of failure, and I had literally nothing to lose.
Ian changed my life. I started to see the world with new eyes, as if through clear instead of frosted glass. I became a real part of the world again and no longer dealing with a mind that felt like it was permanently on fast spin! I can now think calmly again – the pile of emotional clutter that had built up over decades has shrunk from a mountain threatening to fall on me, to a small molehill.
I still have a little way to go to iron out the last of the niggles, but I have got my joy of life back, I have rekindled old friendships, learned to laugh again and where there was despair, I how have joyful optimism thanks to Ian.

I was lost
Words cannot describe how grateful I am to Ian, he came into my life in one of the most difficult moments! His insight and guidance have helped me to come to important realisations about myself and dare to look at things differently.
I have recently completed my 6th session with Ian and I must say even though it's been less than 2 months since my panic attacks begun I can honestly say I feel, I see and I am amazed with the difference and the progress between then and now.
I have always been a stressful and anxious person but Ian has been the best helping me though this and allowing me to be myself. I honestly didn't believe I could be so open with someone I have just met but Ian inspires confidence and offers a relaxed environment in which you can search and begin the journey of healing.
I am tremendously happy I came across his website and found him.
A great professional with a lot of experience, I would strongly recommend to anyone!

The Real me is back!!
MY HONEST EXPERIENCE WITH EMDR
Traumatic events by definition, overwhelmed my ability to cope. Being diagnosed with PTSD after a car crash left me suffering many Mental Health issues.
To gain strength, courage and confidence, I had to stop and look fear in the face. Regardless of the magnitude of my struggle, my experience MATTERED. Ian gave me the space to talk about it, gradually unloading the pain I carried.
I am now able to say "I lived THROUGH this trauma, that I am SAFE"
With Ian's expertise, patience and understanding I was able to do the one thing I believed I couldn't do.
No matter how you feel, get up, show up and never give up.
The "Real Me" is now back in residence.
Sincerest gratitude Ian!

Keep on top of anxiety
I have known Ian for several years & had both CBT & EMDR with him.
I am a great believer of psychotherapy as a preventative not only a cure. It is very important to look after your mental health, acknowledging trigger signs & getting help sooner rather than later.
Ian is the Best! He is down to earth, straight talking & brilliant at what he does.
He has helped me to keep on top of anxiety, PTSD & disorders that would take over my life if I did not seek his expertise.

Take Back Control
I would like to thank Ian for taking the time to allow me to come and see him in a relaxed setting and help me regarding my anxiety problems.
Without Ian I would of just bumbled along as the anxiety had taken a firm hold of me. Seeing Ian regularly for approximately 3 months gave me what I feel was the best chance of loosening the grip and for me to take back control and it did!
I have completed things that I hadn't done for months and without Ian's support and vision I certainly wouldn't and couldn't of completed what I had set out to do.
I certainly feel that seeing Ian was my best decision in 2022.
Ian was recommended to me and I will certainly be passing his number on.

Best life decision I have ever made!
I heard Ian talking about EMDR on a radio broadcast and initially thought it sounded too good to be true. I have tried various forms of self-help and therapies, which have helped though never fully resolved my deep-rooted problem, so thought I would contact Ian to see if this technique would be suitable for me.
That was one of the best life decisions I have ever made!
Ian has been great from start to finish, walking and talking me through the process and explaining each stage step by step.
Within 8 x 1hr sessions Ian has helped me resolve and ‘put to rest’ a traumatic event and many of the demons that went along with it.
It’s not a miracle cure, but it is a truly magnificent therapy with outstanding results possible.
If you are reading this, then you are most likely considering accessing support and guidance for your own mental health and wellbeing.
All I can say is contact Ian Best, have a chat with him, and follow his direction.

Daunting nightmares gone!
I heard about Ian through a well respected friend and over the past three years I had been having at least two to three nightmares whilst sleeping nearly every week.
Ian was very easy to talk to from the first minute we met each other and I looked forward to our weekly appointments as new friends.
After only five appointments I was totally shocked that my daunting nightmares had gone away and until today I have not had a nightmare since!!!!
I strongly recommend catching up with Ian and discussing your mental problems.
I am sure you will be amazed as I was on his vast success rate he has achieved over his dedicated career.

Before seeing Ian I found my anxiety took over my life and I struggled to find any enjoyment. From my very first session, Ian gave me the strategies needed to support me and look at life through a different lens.

I highly recommend Ian’s therapy services as he has truly changed my view on life.

I would like to say a massive thank you, you are one amazing person, when I started my treatment with you from day one you made me feel relaxed because you was relaxed, I could talk and you'd listen.

I had two major incidents at work and you supported me from start to finish.
Thank you again.

Life was dark, scary with pure dread
Before I met Ian I had tried many different types of counselling, none of them really helped. Then I met Ian and he changed all of that. He helped me when I thought I couldn’t be helped.
Ian was so easy to talk to, down to earth, it was like I’d known him all my life. I was able to open up with no judgment at all from Ian. I really wish I had met him years ago. I can not speak highly enough about Ian and his work with me. I will be grateful for the rest of my life and I know if I need him he will be there. Where my life was dark, scary with pure dread, it is now light, airy with sunshine.
All I can say is 'Oh My God' (Ian will laugh at that) that was my expression every time the EMDR worked and it worked every time.
It’s in the name Ian Best, Ian is the best.
Thank you Ian for giving me my life back.

Become more resilient
This was the second time I had been to see Ian for a series of CBT Sessions. Ian had previously helped me out of a very dark period in my life and so when I felt myself going back down that road, I did not hesitate to get in touch with him. When we first met again it was like meeting an old friend.
Ian has a way of putting you immediately at ease. He is completely understanding and empathetic and his vast knowledge means he is able to explain things in a way you can understand. He helps you comprehend why you may be feeling the things you are feeling and therefore get on top of those associated thoughts and emotions.
If you need some help, I can’t recommend Ian enough. He has saved me from the depths of despair more than once and helped me become more resilient and able to tackle all that life can throw at me.”

Like a chat with your best mate
Reaching out for help is by far the roughest part of your journey. But if you are lucky enough to be reading this, then you are lucky enough to have found Ian and your journey just became so much smoother, easier and although you may not believe it possible at this point - enjoyable.
Ian has an incredible ability to connect, to make you feel comfortable and create an environment where you can talk without judgement, receive the support you need and work through any issues TOGETHER.
Ian has helped me immeasurably to navigate anxiety generated from big life events and the effect of a very disruptive and demanding work schedule on home life.
There is nothing clinical or sterile about his methods - it feels more like a chat with your best mate and you can look forward to sitting down and sorting the world (your brain) out! Don't let the 'informality' deceive you however ..... Ian knows EXACTLY what he is doing, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience and he will draw on it where appropriate to help you.
If I could offer just one piece of advice it would be this - TRUST HIM.

I have a future to look forward to
I first heard about Ian on the local radio where he does a monthly spot, and I knew listening to him I could relate to him so
If you are looking for someone who really cares then look no further!
I'm a 61 year old woman and It took me seven years of illness mainly spent in bed and various diagnoses of generalised anxiety disorder, Bipolar type 2 and PTSD trying every drug and therapy available on the NHS and getting nowhere to make the decision to go private, from the moment I met Ian he put me at ease, I was able to talk about things I have never spoken about before and Ian helped me understand why I have been ill and how to protect myself from further episodes going forward.
I have now been well for seven months, a long time for me and I'm enjoying life again!
I will be forever grateful to Ian and I looked forward to our sessions it was like chatting to a friend and it's the first time anyone has really listened to me and had empathy.
I feel like a big weight has been lifted from me and that I now have a future to look forward to and that now I have someone I can go back to if I ever need too.
I would recommend Ians book also, it's a great insightful read.
If you are thinking of giving Ian a try then don't hesitate you won't regret it!

Top man and thanks!
After an accident four and a half years ago my wife had noticed I wasn't my normal self. Looking a little deeper and a few doctors appointments I was diagnosed with P.T.S.D and anxiety when it came to driving and journeys. My insurance company referred Ian for treatment.
From my very first session Ian made me feel at ease and explained how the process worked and how I would benefit. In total I had a dozen sessions, and as the weeks went by, I could feel myself feeling more my old self. I found Ian very calming and easy to talk to .
Being an alpha male it's sometimes difficult to open up , but with Ian this wasn't an issue. I would highly recommend Ian.
He's certainly made me feel better about myself and how I think about different scenarios.
Top man and thanks .

Regained lost confidence
Ian was assigned to me via my insurance provider. I had not previously worked with a male therapist so I was somewhat sceptical that he could help much as my problems were quite feminine, but I was very well proven wrong.
Ian is incredibly skilled at his job and is extremely passionate about truly helping people. He brings heart to his work everyday and works hard to understand his patients while maintaining enough distance to maintain his technical integrity. I felt genuinely cared for and listened to, which gave me relief every session to work through the problems I was going through. By the end of our sessions, I had regained my lost confidence and was on the path, with newly learned skills and self-awareness needed to help myself by myself.
Lastly, Ian was always very professional and transparent in his communications, particularly about his work schedule. This gave me much-needed consistency as well as confidence in him.
I highly recommend Ian if you are looking for a therapist yourself!
